I am not sure how this site works exactly but it seems fun. So Hi! Found this website because someone recommended it on Reddit. I love to read about other peoples experiences. So I will be writing most likely my anxious thoughts or day to day things. Not sure yet. Last year in my 20s...
I love dogs and love being creative. Currently, I have no close friends... not because I am a "loser" but because I have not connected to anyone on a deeper level. So basically just my dogs and my fiance.

newcomers has lots of resources about how to use Dreamwidth and where to find things you'll enjoy here. If you're coming from Tumblr, soc_puppet is posting tutorials for that angle.

The Follow Friday Master Post has lists of active communities by topic where you can look for some based on your interests. Many bloggers use recurring posts to pin down their key interests and maintain activity, which is also a good source of inspiration if you aren't sure what you want to post yet. The next big event will be the sunshine_challenge in July.

Plenty of folks use DW for that purpose, but there's not really a community for slice of life stuff. You can watch for it as you browse around though.

There are lots of communities for Art and Writing. More general ones include crafty, everykindofcraft, user name="get_knitted">, and justcreate.

The Add Me communities offer a good way to make new friends.


If you like poetry, drop by my blog on Tuesday, July 1 for the Poetry Fishbowl with a theme of "Weaponized Incompetence and Malicious Compliance." That's rougher phrasing than typical, but my readers suggest and vote on themes; I think they're feeling frustrated with the world right now. Anyhow, it's fun to watch the crosstalk among the audience.

I feel same... no friends.. just not found ones that i can connect to. Now that I am retired, my coworkers aren't around and it feels as it always does.. no connection except for family, cat, and new backyard animal farm that i finally got all babies here. Rode home with two baby goats in backseat of truck for hour ride home.

I'm interested. I saw your journal after clicking the random journal button. I like following a variety and that includes thinky posts about regular life, but also I relate to your thing about feeling close(r), on average, to animals.

But, it's okay if you don't wanna give it a shot and would prefer we didn't add each other.
